Gents, I have a 99 6 speed with Kooks LT, x-pipe, hi-flo cats, and Corsa Pace set up. It's computer tuned and healthy, EXCEPT it likes to fart occasionally when i am off the gas or down shifting at mid-range rpm.
Am I the lone ranger here or does anyone else experience these gas pains like my darlin does!
It is a common “feature” of Corsa cat backs. Most people refer to it as gurgling and many, including me like it. On the other side of the coin, Corsa cat backs DO NOT HAVE ANY RESONANCE! Almost every other system has resonance and it can drive you crazy. Learn to like it, but don’t change to another system unless it is the stock ZO6 titanium one.
I have the Corsa but not the X pipe. I've read that the X pipe increases the poping. I have a little bit of it, but I like it. Almost sounds like one of those fast mustangs.

I've got LG longtubes, and they got rid of the gurgling. The popping persisted. I tried a Predator performance tune, and that significantly reduced the popping. Not sure why. Maybe the Predator changed the timing like in the earlier post.
I'm NOT a tuner by any way shape or form BUT,,,,when I had my car tuned, the tuner changed the DE-acceleration fuel cut off value and that took care of 90% of my gurgling noises. (not that it bothered me! ) I bet you that if you modified the DE acceleration Fuel Cut Off value and the modified the timing like Slowhawk (the MASTER OF ALL TUNING GURUS) recommends, it will be gone!!
Personally, thats the sound I want to hear!! I don't like to think about my old stock exhaust compared to long tubes and some bullets Thats how I envisioned a Corvette to sound like. I swear I cream myself everytime I start that car up!....

Thanks fo the gas pain relief ideas! I love the gurgling, no doubt, but the "backfire" every once in a while irks me. The tuning variations makes a lot of sense to me. When i add the cam as well i'll hope for the best!
Thanks all of you vette dudes!
