Default Engine Operating Temp

My question is what temp should an LS1 engine run at? I just bought a 2001 formula with an LS1 engine and the operating temp seems to run at right around 210 degrees. No overheating problems but I am courious of what everyones run at? Thanks

Thats about the hottest I used to see even in a Vegas Summer. The fans cut in at about 220 I think. Seems a bit warm for normal running to me.

I run 192 on the highway. Higher of course in traffic.

The question is if you just installed the engine, what was in there before? If it was a smaller engine, you may have a cooling system that can't handle it. Make sure the radiator is clean. Vettes hav a tendency to collect "stuff" at the very top of the radiator and cut off half the capacity.

210° isn't that unusual for a car with factory fan turn-on settings.

Factory settings - turn-on temps for the fans are 226° and 235°.

The engine came out of a 2000 z-28 camaro and it went into a 2001 formula. The only reason I am posting here is because C-5 vettes have the LS1 engine. I usually hang in the C-3 section with my 77 vette. Thanks for all help.

My 03 mn6 runs 190 to 192 in town if driving not sitting, in traffic it will go to 220 or so then the fans come on. At highway speed 189 to 194.

192 as long as I'm moving - on a hot day in traffic I've seen it as hot as 220.
