Default Engine Light Code Help

I was driving around last night when the light came on, ran the codes and this is what I got:

Mass Air Flow System Performance - H

Fuel Trim System Rich - HC

and

Right Door Control Mod. 01064 -H (couldnt find that one)

My brother did put half a tank of gas in for me and I told him to get premium....but is the car safe to drive a little bit, and any ideas how to correct it?

Are you a new owner??

The "H" means History, it was a code that was on the system but is not a current concern. So you are left with the fuel trim. Was the car running when he took the cap off to fuel?? That causes pressure issues in the fuel tank and can trip a code and will go away after driving 20-30 miles, which could explain the "H" & "C" ("c" means Current).

I'm sure you will get others that will have more details.

Try pulling the MAF and getting some "non-residue" electronics cleaner at Autozone and cleaning the MAF. You will see the sensing wires in the MAF, don't touch them but gently spray them to clean. Let air dry. A dirty MAF could cause both of these codes.

Could you post the DTC numbers (such as P0402) ? The service manual is layed out by the numbers, and there could be several codes for a MAF problem.

Also include the leading character of the code ... I'm guessing you got a U1064 code, which means you had a loss of communication with the Body Control Module. U1xxx codes are common, and if they are followed by an H I ignore them.

Thanks,

Steve
