Default C5 power ducts

Hi everyone,
I had a question about the power ducts. Are these worth the money? I don't see many made for the C5 and not all CAI setups come with them (Vortex, VR, etc.). Is there one that would be better to buy than the others due to any durability issues or one that makes more power than others? Just looking for some feedback.

Thanks!

I don't know what kind of power they add but I think it would worthwhile to get rid of that accordian style coupler.

Various opinions on this. Some say the ripple in the wall helps, others say smooth is better. Moot point with me as I bought the Halltech and it comes with a bigger air bridge and a smooth coupler, both of which are on the vert.

Switched both my stock coupler and duct out for the bigger Power versions - don't know it it did a hell of a whole lot - but there you have it. It's called tinkering I think - tweak here tweak there

It is for looks only. If it made 1 hp, then GM would have changed it for the C6 Z06. The firmware in the PCM is looking for the slight turbulance caused by the creases (it is very small) and all the scalable paramaters are based off of it. The accordian type coupler is there to compensate for the torque and twisting on the engine during accel, decel and cornering and to keep the engine quieter.

You get a few HP I'm sure, It's bigger than the factory one. So It has to help I would think. If an air coupler helps a bit, a power duct should be even better..I suggest you get both, they both also look alot better.
I say It's worth It, even If you don't feel It. You could bump up 10Hp In these cars and not even feel It. So I doubt you will with this, but your Vette will perform alot better~

(Boeingman) That Is probably the truth. I would just get It because of the extra airflow and the looks then. Corvette engines love to breathe better

I'm talking about the whole duct from the MAF to the throttle body, nit just the accordion piece. The new duct is pretty pricey, but even a few HP is worth it to me!

See my response to your other post; a Callaway Honker replaces all of the stock parts, from filter to throttle body.
