Ok...I'm gonna try this again. Mebbe I'll get it right and post this in the proper area! lol
Help! I have a triple black 98 Vert and just got it back from the detailer. The rear window has separated from the soft top and is just hanging by elastic. How do I fix? Is it a simple fix, something I can do myself?...Be kind! Or do I need to take it somehwhere?

Post Pics of yourself and you will get 1000 responses.. seriously.. take it to a local TRIM SHOP. They may be able to fix it.. if not they are certainly prepared to replace the top.. DO NOT take it to a dealer they are NOT equipped for this type of work...
Have your windshield repairman come and fix it.He'll use the windshield adhesive and it will not come off again. This is the fix I had done on my 3XBlack Vert 6 months ago.Jerry
You can do a search on this. Some have had success with JB Weld. I tried but wasn't very successful on my 2000 and just got an aftermarket top which was a double twill. The quality is much better. I found a member on the forum selling a new one and got it for 250 and same for the install.

lol That would be your best bet, just don't let them over charge you. I would check a couple of different places.
I have a 2001 that did the same thing. The dealer replaced the whole top for free even though the car was out of warranty. The said it was for "goodwill." I think GM knows about the problem and may be willing to buy you a top if you bring it there. It's worth a shot.

Just to bring you up to date. It has now been a week and still not fixed. Took it to West Coast Corvette and they couldn't repair. Called 5 auto window repair shops and they said no way. Safelight Auto Glass (one of the largest window repair companies) won't touch it. Four dealers said no freebie, but a new one is $1500, part only. Then I found a guy in Pasadena, CA who has been in the convertible top and car restoration biz for 41 years. He quoted me $1290 P & L installed in one day. Will be speaking with the detailer who broke it in the morning....

If something "accidently" fell on it and cut it while parked in the garage..... I am most certain that is covered under comprehensive...
I think this is a set up...She? needs to post pictures of the problem or herself? What are you guys who made all these offers going to do if "she" is a 312lb. gay guy with blond hair? Have it your way? <grin>

Perhaps you should expand your search area. The top can be unbolted and removed. It might be cheaper to remove the top completely and ship it to someone like Al Knoch for repair. Just a thought.
I know the feeling. Like, just 'cuz we got married my wife expected me to cut back on the amount of dating I was doing. Who knew THAT was part of the deal?
This is their super adhesive:
Perfect for carpet, seat and headliner trim, this black Adhesive bonds rubber, vinyl, metal, fabrics and glass in minutes. Since it's highly resistant to oil, moisture and temperature changes, you won't see any dripping or sagging. Parts may also be repositioned while drying for correct placement. Ships via ground service only. (Note: Do not apply to painted surfaces.)
Alternatively,
Their vert top is $500, so install should in theory keep you well under that $1290 price you had been quoted. http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=2.161.81
