Default Oil Pressure Sensor Replacement

I just replaced my oil pressure sensor, it failed like many others. My question is: when re-installing the intake manifold how do you get the small (straw type) hose at the back of the manifold reconnected? Also, since there is no way to see it when the manifold is installed, how do you know it's connected? I used a short, 6 inch, piece of rubber hose to create some slack so I could connect it before sliding the manifold back in place. Seems to be working fine.

thats what i did when i replaced mine...just used a short piece of vacuum hose and connected it up before reinstalling the intake!
