Default Transmission problem

I was running my z06 at VIR yesterday when I got the high transmission temp. Pressing the reset button gave me a temp of 275 degrees. I slowed down and brought the car into the pits. I parked the car and turned it off. After restarting the car, the car was moving in reverse with the shifter in neutral. Reverse was also working. Placing the shifter in first, the car would try to move forward but it felt like the brake was on. We checked, and we could push the car with the clutch in, so this was not the case. I gave a bit more gas in first, and the car will move, and I put it on the trailer.

Arriving at home, the car will now not move in reverse, but first is working. Sounds like I have serious problems, and it is time for a new transmission, but any ideas what could have gone wrong?

Thanks!

Tim it sounds like you overheated/damaged the caged roller bearing under the reverse mainshaft gear. It will need to be torn down for an inspection to determine the extent of damage.
