Default Tunnel Plate with higher HP?

I recently had a supercharger, headers and exhaust installed on my c5 coupe. It has been recommended to me that I should install a tunnel (stiffening) plate or I could be in danger of twisting the body with 500hp. Any comments?

You won't twist the body permanently. You are more likely to churn your tires or explode your diff output shafts. Everything deflects under load so with a stiffer tunnel plate you will deflect less. It reduces squeeks and a stiffer chassis typically handles better.

You don't need the plate.People install them to help keep the heat from going into the cabin. We have plenty of 700+rwhp Vette's running around without them

My 3/8 plate made a big difference on my set-up. Less twist, shake and heat, especially under hard accleration.

I noticed my car was a little stiffer, but the big thing was the reduced heat in the cabin and in Texas were it gets hot this is a big help

Where do you get the plate? I am modding the drivetrain. Now would be a good time to install said plate.
