Default Ride Control Switch Code-Please help!

Does anyone know what might be causing a code for my ride control? I'm getting a "ride control malfunction" when I start the car, and it's hapened in the past few weeks more and more until now it seems to occur every start up. I checked the code- 38 RTD C1791 HC. I looked it up and it is listed as "Ride Control Switch(contact malfunction)". Any thoughts....I really don't want to take it to a dealer if possible...I've already fixed, on my own, the leaking battery that ate completely through the plastic vacuum line running to the back of the manifold! Not easy taking the intake and pass. fender off to get access, but I'm up for tackling this one with some help if possible! It's a 99 with the tour, sport, and performance modes.

If I were you,,,,,I would purchase active handling shock and sensor simulators, install 2006-2007 ZO6 shocks and forget about that RTD joke!

Once you install the new shocks, you will wonder why GM ever offered RTD F45 as an option! For an even more eye opening change, get some Z51 front and rear sway bars and metal end links! You will have a phenomenal ride!!

In case you still want to keep it,,remove the console and check the switch and switch connections.

Let me know what you find.
