Security Light Comes On.......

Since I was on my street, I stopped, turned off the car, opened and closed my door clicked the fob and restarted the car. The light went off and while I was driving, it came back on again.
When I got to my destination, I turned off the car. When I came back out an hour later, I pressed the fob, got in and the car wouldn't start. All of the electrical features worked (windows, radio, etc.) but when I turned the key, there was no power to the ignition.... No clicking either, like a bad starter, just no applied power to the starter.
I turned the wheel a little bit (The CLB was done to my car before I bought it) and still nothing. There was no DIC message either. Finally, I removed the key, waited a few seconds, clicked the "unlock" button on the fob a few times, reinserted the key and thankfully, it started right up.
What would cause that to happen?
The battery is new (replaced it in August) and since this happened today, I turned the car on and off a few times and it starts...... But still, I worry.
Any insight would be appreciated.......

The C5 gremlin in this case would be the BCM, after you clean the key pellet with rubbing alcohol and you are still having an issue, check to make sure that your BCM connections are tight and clean. Look for signs of water hopefully, your AC drain isn’t plugged and leaking unto the BCM.

Long story short,,,it was being caused by bad grounds and a corroded BCM. Mt BCM got wet because my HVAC Drains clogged and let moisture enter the passengers foot well.
Check G-101, 102, 104/108. see if they are clean and secure. Also check to see if the BCM and or the passengers foot well has been wetted.
BC
Our car has the memory function and every time I have to "Remove the key and wait 10 seconds" my mirrors and seat get unnecessary wear and tear. I would like to b.... slap the engineer(s) responsible for this every time it occurs.
