I am planning on doing Bilstein sports, but the QA1's look like the ultimate shock without going to the coil over setup. QA1's are adjustable! Ah, decisions, decisions...
Comments are always like "Chevy did extensive testing at Nuremberg for a whole year for the the 04 shocks", but Bilstein has been designing/testing their shocks at Nuremburg also for decades. Argument is Chevy testing was specifically for the Z06 while Bilsteins covered all sorts of models/makes.
Ive found thru my own experiences if your Vette is lowered even on stock bolts the Bilsteins (since they are shorter), "might" work a little better but thats debatable also as I know some people whos shocks bottom out lowered on stock bolts and others do not. Ive dealt with 2 04 Z's that switched from their stock shocks to Bilstein sports and there was a noticible better difference (but these 2 cars were lowered also).
For my friends 03 there was a night and day difference getting rid of the stock 03 Z shocks and going to Bilsteins. He was on a budget so he saved $100+ using Bilsteins instead of the 04's also. For a street driven car and novice ocassional track or parking lot autoX most people wont notice any difference between an 04 Z Sachs vs a Bilstein shock.
The argument will go on forever.....

I installed the 07 ZO6 shocks on my 02 Z06. Ever have the car side step when you drive it through a wash board road in a turn (like going around a on or off ramp? Those shocks eliminated all of that crap!
Have Bilstein on mine the car and it is lowered all the way down and love them, just like Bill said it gets rid of a few bad habits that the stock shocks have.
I was the first to install C6 Z06 shocks on a C5 about 1 year ago. I did about 13 track days with them and found them to be great for absorbing dips and hills on many of the road courses.
These along with my T1 bars out handled my friend's Z06 at WGI with 04 shocks and Z06 sways....
Here are some pics at limerock with the shocks doing their work:
Right on Bill !!! ...'07 shocks rock eh ? I think the washboard test is the ultimate test for shocks, that is what they were designed for a hundred years ago !
