Default 2003 Z06 - Check Engine Light

I have a 2003 Z06 which has a Vara-Ram air induction system. The car has less than 40,000 miles. Often the check engine light will come on - but not always. I have reset the computer and the engine light goes off - for awhile. Sometimes the check engine light will come on with the engine cold and other times when it is warm. I do not notice a loss in performance when the check engine light is illuminated. I have taken it to a mechanic who indicated that he did not see any malfunctions with the car. Any thoughts on what might be casuing this and what the remedy might be? Thanks.

pull the codes from the DIC, that'll tell the story.

I believe the late 03's and 04's had a screenless MAF from the factory and when an aftermarket intake like the Vararam is installed it will set a lean code. Hold down the Options button and then push the fuel button four times, the DIC will display the codes. Write them down and post them. You should wait until the light comes back on first. Also, check your MAF to see if it has a screen.
