Can someone clue me in as to how a clutch
replacement would cost? I know i'll need one
in the near future. Just want to get an idea.
Thanks, Tom

Labor is around $600-850. The clutch itself is anywhere from $400 to several thousand.

I sell the LS7 clutch, pressure plate and flywheel for 398.05. You can get a new slave and master for about 250.
Thanks,
Gene

Going for the lowest cost is not usually a good move so make sure whoever does this can and will guarantee your satifaction and stands accountable for poor results.
I'd expect to pay $500-$650 labor and I would expect to have zero issues, no leaks, no vibrations, nothing but smoooth clutch engagement at the proper pedal loaction.
I also think the car needs to be re-aligned - add another $80-$125

A shop in SoCal said $650 for labor which is about the going rate around here. I have LT headers so it might be a little cheaper if you don't.

Why would an alignment be necessary?

because your dropping the rear xmember and relying on the dowel pins for alignment upon installation
I believe this is also in accordance with the GM instructions

I've heard anywhere from $600 to $800. LG did my brothers and no alignment was needed.

I cant see any reason for an alignment.
The dowel pins on my car didn't magically move while the car was apart for the clutch install.
