Which Headers?
Kooks?
LG Streets?
American Racing?
Dynamaxx?
StainlessSteel Works?
I'm dizzy with the offers...
What is your opinion on which one is best for the C5. Best to me means
a combination of HP, torque, direct bolt on fit, longevity and price.

FWW My installer told me that the Dynamax's are MUCH easier to install and that their heavy flanged connectors are much better/reliable than the "slip fit" style used on the LG's, which, some say. makes them prone to exhaust leaks.

I have run a few different brands, IMHO the LG's are by far the the best all around. Very simple install, as well as great power
both at a great price. I love mine

Love my Dynamaxx system. I like the fact that for one price I got the headers, cats, and x pipe. The shop that installed them for me said they were the best fitting set of C5 headers they had ever installed.
I installed the LG Streets myself. Very easy project, no leaks, great performance. I also installed a set that had bolt together flanges, and they were much harder to install. Getting the flanges lined up was a pain.
Of all the headers I see listed, have you considered a Tri-Y design? I am running the QTP's, only all stainless Tri-Y design for the C5, which uses Random Tech cats and "X" pipe. They are also easy to install.

Don't even consider Stainless Works.
Had one header that didn't fit. The right front 02 was shoved right up against the bell housing tunnel. I even had the pipes pryed over, tightend, then tac welded here and there to secure. That still didn't hold.
Had their rep. out to look at it. Get this, he said the best thing to do was mash the floor in to make room for the 02 sensor!
Stainless Works won't replace the header.
How's that for crappy customer service!

I have TPIS on at the moment, but I ordered the American Racing Headers on the Dec special and they will be going in when I do the clutch that got fryed at the track, and then I will be able to see if they will gain me some rwhp

Another vote for Dynamaxx... great fit, easy to install, and absolutely no leaks. Every part you need for the install is included in the kit, and did I mention no leaks?
With just about every other header out there I've read about someone having problems with leaks or the AIR tube breaks off, but I've never read about any problems with leaks or AIR tube breakage on the Dynamaxx headers. That's why I ended up buying and installing them.

We have installed both LG and Dynamaxx at the shop both are great fitting headers. I think the largest dirrerents is that the Dynamaxx as a 2 1/2in x-pipe and the LG as a 3in x-pipe. bigger pipe better flow but since your mufflers are 2 1/2in I don't see much use in the 3in x-pipe on most motors.

Dynatech SuperMaxx system seems to be very good. A number of forum members have posted very positive comments about them and the two tuners that I have spoken to about them state they are very good.

Engineered by the same team who produced the headers for the LS-1 spec engines that went into every ASA racecar.
