Have a club member that just bought a C5 Vert and is looking for the best set up for installing 5 or 6 point racing belts for Auto-X! What is out there?
I have a brace bar on my C6 coupe, but don't know what to tell him for C5 Vert?
I would go with the Brey-Krause bar and seat belt hardware.
Get 6-point belts with clips on the lap and sub belts - that way you can clip them onto the seatbelt hardware and remove them when you don't need them. You can leave the stock seatbelts in.
The should straps should be mounted about shoulder level +/- 5* of shoulder level. if the shoulder belts are mounted below this level it is possible for a spinal compression fracture to happen.
Sub belts, should come up though the seat bottom or between the seat bottom and seat back. i.e. you sit on the sub belt and it goes up into yoru crotch. That is why 2 sub belts ( from a 6 point) is a good idea.
I just installed an R&D racing harness in my my C5 vert. Bolt in install for easy removal later, nice and sturdy too (removable hard top is on in the picture to the left)
Sparco. FIA rated and used to win countless championships world wide. Harness sets have a limited life specified by your clubs's GCR so beware, don't buy used ones on ebay.

I have the same one - its a great piece of hardware!

How did you mount the Harness! We're looking for a brace to mount them on, or another way, for the 98 Roadster?
Oh and the camera mount that goes around the waterfall is optional. Mine didnt come with it since I bought it from a member, but really you wouldnt know the bar was there unless you saw the belts
Hey sorry I was working on my old car im trying to sell and it got dark on me really fast! I can try and get pictures tomorrow. It works great and is very sturdy in there. Took me a little bit to get the bottom bar that go under the seat rails attached, but if your friend ends up getting one I would be more than happy to walk him threw the install or answer any questions for him Oh one other thing is with this bar you still have the stock steat belts in. So you can either tuck them behind the seat and use the 5pt harness, or tuck the harness behind the seat and use the stock belt
