I bought my 00 coupe in florida but I am pretty sure its a canada car since I can turn off the Drl's, is there ANY way to prevent the headlights from coming on when its getting dark out, I want to be able to control that myself.
Cant' remember if it's fuse # 44 or # 40. It's a rectangular grey fuse with 4 prongs. Pull it out, and it'll disable the auto headlights.
Being able to turn the DRLs on and off is news to me.
The DRL mod can be done in 2 ways. Pull the A2 fuse which turns off the DRLs but leaves a few DIC codes and affects the approach lights function. Simple and reversible.
The permanent mod is to pull the 2 relays (40 and 44) in the pax footwell. You then need to fit a couple of jumper cables to return the lights to normal operation. Its documented in a Tech Tip.
With a US spec Twilight Sentinel can be turned off via the DIC. If its a Canadian spec car it's permanently live and can't be deselected. As Russ says, a reflash is the solution.
I think the 300 kph speedometer is the big give away in identifying a Canadian spec car. That and the RPO codes.
