I asked a similar question on this board a little while ago. I already knew this answer above; I have them now, I'll be replacing them soon. The result on my posting about Kumho tires suggested the Kumho MX were clearly the favorite but the seemed to wear a little quicker than most user wanted them to wear. The GY F1 GS D3's are still the best you can get, and one of the most expensive too. I'm thinking about trying a set of Kumho runflats and put them on just for trips.

If you don't want to spend a fortune on GoodYear F1 GS-D3's or Nitto's for cruise night, buy a set of non-runflat Kumho Esta ASX's. A great tire for a great price....with longevity! I love mine.....very quiet, handle great and ride great!

I went with the Kumho Ecsta SPTs. Handling is great, Ride is quiet and my Wallet is full, $503.71 for four delivered from Tire Rack. A lot better than the GY runflats IMHO. My ego is even fine with them.

I know Kumho has gotten props here so I don't want to get flamed but, I have had bad experience with 3 different sets of Kumho's on other cars.

For my 02' I bought a set of Avon M550 A/S tires. I had researched them heavily & decided that the ratings from customers on tirerack.com couldn't be wrong...I was right. I bought the all season tires since my C5 is a daily driver. The tires are far quieter than the EMT's & the ride is a lot better!
The Avon's shed water wonderfully as well so rain driving is never a problem.

To take my point one step further...
I bought my Avon's a year ago. A bud a work bought the same tires just this past month for his C5. Sitting side by side you could NOT tell the difference between my year old Avon's & his brand new ones...
He & his wife love them & are very very happy with them.
Best thing is, you can get a whole set for your car for about the price of one rear EMT.

As far as them not being runflats? Well, that's what AAA is for...

Here's the link if you want to check them out...

Another vote to consider the Avons here. I have the Tech M500 summer tire, which I would recommend if you never see snow/ice. They have a bit sifter compound than the M550, and they'll wear a bit faster, but they perform quite well. I've autocrossed and dragged on them a few times, and they're very competent all around. Much improved ride over EMT, esp. with the Z51 suspension, and they're good in the wet.

I went with the GSD3s. Today was the first day I really put them to the test. I am very pleased with them. I looked at Toyos, Kuhmos, Nittos and it took awhile for me to make up my mind. In the end the GSD3s averaged about $300 more per set than the other models I was looking at. They recieved better reviews overall and were showed to wear a little better. One of the major deciding factors was they just look so damn cool

I also went with the Avons. I was a little concerned with the quick wear of the rear set( about 6500 miles) until I started quizing my two teenage sons. It seems they took part in a parking lot burn out show. They bought the second set of tires. Great tire for the price. 8,000 miles on the fronts, very little wear.

No pics, I started to put it together when I spotted all the rubber on the Corsa mufflers and the wear bars showing on the tires. They are lucky I gave up on Goodyear runflats. That would have killed the old bank account.
