Default Push rod lenghts?

Anyone know what length push rods to use with a 224/224/ .567/.567 LSA 114. Using LS6 heads. The LS6 heads come with a 7.4 push rod. Would this work with the cam or would I need longer ones?
Thanks...

I know someone running a Comp cam and the GMPP LS6 heads. He used the stock length due to the valve stem length in the heads, along with the smaller base circle, when we measured it came out fine. Having stated that, we also double checked with an adjustable pushrod to verify. I would just use an adjustable to verify the pushrod length.

Thank you for your reply. Today I plan to measure the base circle to see what I'll come up with. I maynot mill the LS6 head to .62cc if it's going to really compicate things.
Thanks again

Personally, I think 7.425" pushrods will be what you need to achieve optimum preload on an OEM lifter and the smaller base circle. If you mill the heads, you may be able to keep using the pushrods you have.

Also have to account for the taller valve stems.

I'll check with the installer to see if he has the adjustable push rod to check as you suggested.
I measured the base circle and it is 1.493 on the new cam.

Thanks,

After talking with the Katech yesterday...I'm convinced that getting the preload at .075-.100" is optimum. That is another reason I think you should shoot for the 7.425 pushrods. Most people are basing their calculations on .060 preload.

He has a smaller base circle by about 0.040" but has milled some amount that will sink the rocker relative position lower. He also has taller valve stems that will sink the pushrod lower as well. I think you are going to end up around the stock size, but definitely measure.

The stock setups I have measured have all come out to approximately 0.100" lifter preload.
