...P1416 is the AIR check valve that happens to be buried BEHIND the intake manifold I replaced it once maybe about a year or so ago, and I'm getting P1416 AGAIN! It was an absolute pain in the posterior, I wound up with bloody knuckles. Not looking forwards to doing that again. Why does this one always fail while the other keep working, which is very easily accessible???
Since there are rubber lines in the system, I am wondering if you could move it out where access is better. Maybe even adapt the driver's side to the passenger side and re-plumb. Not sure why that one, although maybe it doesn't get as hot and tends to hold any condensation as opposed to the other which is right on the manifold.

Am I to understand that BOTH of you previous posters have replaced this check valve WITHOUT removing the intake manifold? I used to get this code almost every day. When I posted a thread asking if it was possible to change the check valve without removing the intake, I was told it couldn't be done. I just kept resetting the DIC every day and after a couple weeks it quit giving that code.
What's the trick to getting it out and replacing it?

I received this note from Edensknight about this:
And, yes, that "pesky" passenger air check valve is one **** to access, let alone, reinstall. But, with a little sweat equity, it can be wrangled. What I would like to do is list for you the following links. Please read through the provided threads. The information offered (one of the threads has pics) should prove helpful for you:
