Default O2 sensors

Removed factory h-pipe to get ready for the new headers and catted X pipe, question I have, if I replace the O2 sensors , do the new ones come with the proper length wires like oem, or do they need to be spliced into the factory harnesses.

Thanx

It all depends on what you are planning on running. Normally, most people gets rid of the rear O2 sensors and edits them out in the tune (or install simulators). Then they take their old rear sensors and move them to the front using a flat 4 pin to square 4 pin adaptor. Most header company will send that adaptor with their headers. The factory rear sensor have longer cables on them than the front factory sensors, so the adaptor only needs to be a few inches long.

Even if you are planning on running all four O2 sensors, I would still recommend buy new factory style rear sensors and using them up front like above. So you would end up running four rear sensors on the car. This is the way I have mine setup.

The main reason you want rear sensors up front with headers is the rear sensors have a hotter (higher wattage) heaters in them. With headers often the O2 sensors don't run hot enough since they are farther down the pipe than factory sensors. Running the hotter rears up front will solve a lot of problems with sensors setting codes when using headers.

As far as buying new sensors, you can get them both ways. I would pay the few extra $$$ get the correct sensors that fit. RUN, do not walk, RUN away from splicing O2 sensor wires!!!

I have spliced O2 sensors before without issue. I have talked to several others that do it as well. The key is ensuring the connections are tight and water proof. If You have the adapters use them, but splicing is an OK b/u plan if you are carefull.

Thanx for the input

I am being told by the tuner who I purchased the ARH setup from , to run the factory sensors in the normal positions, So I'll follow his instructions and hopefully all will be kosher
