I have all the factory service letters completed & installed the CLB module. It's been fine for 3-4 months. Went for a cruise today & got "pull key-wait 10 seconds". The DIC message would not go away & the car was undrivable. Tried pulling the battery cable to see if I could get a reset. No good. Removed the lower dash & pulled the CLB module. Rewired as factory. Got it to start & drove it home. I think the CLB failed. Any ideas?
CLB came from COH. I assume it's after market. Another interesting update.... the key fob suddenly doesn't unlock the car. all this happened at one time. It worked in the am. Does this indicate a BCM failure??? Isn't that what controls the locks from the fob?
I think you answered your own question. If you removed the CLB relay and reconnected the actuator, and the car started and ran, the CLB must have failed.
See if you can get a replacement for the aftermarket CLB, or ask the dealer for the GM version under the recall. If you do the recall, then the lockplate should be removed so at least you do not have to worry about the column also locking. You only have to deal with the BCM getting the correct signal so that it does not cut the fuel when you try to drive it.
If the BCM failed, I would think that just reconnecting the actuator would not fix the problem.
If the key fob quit working, maybe you should check the battery(in the fob).
