Don't know the part # but if I had it to do over I would have bought Morel lifters. They are alittle bit more $ but worth it imho.

Morels are generally accepted as being the best for extreme conditions, such as extended high RPMs, and are priced accordingly. For most high performance street cars, the new HD lifter from GM that they use in the Cadillac racing program should be more than enough, and they're about half the cost of Morels.

Use the GM caddy high performance lifters - they are good to 8,000 RPM - cost about $234.00 - just put them in mine about 2 weeks ago - I understand they are now backordered till the end of February though.

Just curious, but are the new GM HD's retrofittable into previous Gen motors (like the Gen II LT1)????

Morels are about as good as it gets though.

I'm not familiar with the LT1 engines, but if the stock LS lifters work, then I imagine the Caddie ones will.

The Morels are suppose to address the issue of aftermarket cam smaller base circles which can result in a cam/lifter oiling problem because the lifter oil hole is further down the bore when a small base circle cam is used. Does any one know if the Caddy lifters address this issue??

How much are a set of Morels??

I'm running the Cadillac Racing lifters with a BIG cam in my 403. It makes almost no valve train noise. Highly recommended!

Yes BC, from what I was told by SDPC the caddy racing lifters' oil holes sits higher up on the lifters compensating for the lower sitting due to aftermarket cams riding on the smaller base circle.

Man that is just what I want. So there is no "sewing machine" noise at all? My set is on back order from SDPC.GM is making up a batch to send to them. They can't keep them in stock...

I've got them (GM caddie racing) too, and they seem to be a little quieter than stock, but I added roller rockers at the same time, so....

Like mentioned above guys, we should have the Caddy race lifters back in stock in about a week!! We have a few back-orders to fill, but should receive plenty to fill those and then some! Give me a call if I can reserve you a set!
