If the voltage dips low, various modules will shut down. The column lock is one of the ones that complain first. If the voltage was low at shut down the column lock motor will not function properly.
Your best bet is to read your DTC's:
Here is how you do it:
This is the absolute best C5 Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) web site!!!
http://www.corvettedoctor.com/Code_Main.html
http://www.corvettedoctor.com/index.html
Go to “technical data base” and then to “Corvette ECM Computer Codes”. Then select your year car. Read the instructions and then scroll down to the "READ MORE" window to view the code definitions.\
Here is another very good site:
http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_cod...d-ii-codes.php
Make sure to include the H or C suffix!!
Write down and post your DTC’s Then clear them ALL!
Sound effects are cool too!
Once you read them, copy them down, clear all of them. Some modules will not function properly if a DTC is set.
Please post your DTC's. My guess is that you will see codes for BCM, Column Lock, DCM's and a bunch of U series codes. If you have a ton of codes, clear them and monitor after you charge the battery to see if any more set.
Charge your battery, monitor your charging voltages and make sure that your battery cables and terminals are clean and tight.
