I'm in the same boat you're in and debating whether the extra grand is worth it. I'm thinking I might go with the patriots and a cam and change my 3.42 gears to 4.10's? I'll keep reading up on this till I save some more cash.

It would be nice to find 2 Vettes with the same cam, one with Patriots and the second with AFRs. That would make the decision easier.

I've got Patriot 243 heads. Gunnar and his crew were very helpful and professional. I am very pleased with the performance and value of their product. I used to say that I thought they were great heads for the money, but I'm not going to say that anymore. They are great heads period...despite the fact that they are significantly less expensive than many of their competitor's products.
