I installed the new fog light panels to increase cold air intake. My intent is to eventually install a HAlltech Stinger system. Will the panels be useful with the halltech or would you still recommend the cold air induction modification

Recently purchased a 2000 C5 Coupe. New to this forum

Appreciate the assistance
The "opened up" fog light panels are definitely a good way to keep underhood (and intake air) temps down. The best way to find out what effect this mod is having is something like the "Car Chip", which plugs into your OBD II connector. The Car Chip is a data logger that can map intake air temps while you are driving.
I am positive that doing both mods will benefit either a Halltech or Blackwing, the most. My CAI mod channels cold air directly at the underside of the filter element, while opened-up fog light panels will help purge hot engine bay air.

Finally, a huge side benefit of a cold air system that cools the area around the intake filter is keeping those plastic and rubber parts in your engine bay from dying an early death, especially if you ever install headers. Many CAI systems do nothing to keep those wicked-high temps at bay.

the only complaint about the vararam would be that it takes a little longer to install and that it feels cheap. I don't see why intake tubing should be so thick anyway. Its not like its supporting a big honking air filter that just kinda hangs there off the throttle body and rest on the radiator cover. Also, isn't the added performance of the vararam worth the extra hr it takes to install. Its nothing compared to the time you'll spend driving and enjoying it.
