Tin can rattle
Same here, the first time. The second time, I twisted the shaft inside my torque tube, with the wife and the dog in the car, out in Riverside, about an 1hr and 30mins from home. Made it back to Marina Del Rey, in 5th gear almost the whole way.
Both situations are costly, I hope for your sake, its your cats.
Good luck!
Enough said.
Could be much worse, but start there. I barely bottomed out on a fill cover at a gas station. It cracked the honeycomb structure inside. I didn't notice it for a day, but that's what it was.
I pulled my x-over pipe off , and could move the element around. I got a hammer and long screwdriver and went to town. I now have one gutted cat. I'll go hi-flow sooner or later, but gutting the bad one made the noise go away 100%.

Almost always gone above the 1600RPM range -but for the first time - a week ago, i heard it at WOT in 3rd gear. From like 3k to 5.5k i heard 4-5 Ticks, that were audible above my B&B Bullets and DTE Supermaxx LTs...
If it's detonation - what should i do to start fixing it? What causes this? Would i be able to easily diagnose detonation on a Dyno?

It is due to close tolerances in the 6 speed transmissions.
This needs to be a sticky

Also never listen to your friend again, he will probably end up giving you advice that damages your car. what does he drive? A mustang?
