I'm using Bassani long tubes, the consensus of some of the guys with C5's with Kooks or Bassani ( in the group I hang with) seem to agree than Bassani put out more under the curve Hp and Tq numbers than kooks do. Kooks seems to pull harder in the upper rpm range.
Thanks for the feedback guys.. I think I'll stick to my bassani as I'm quite happy with it. One of my friends that has a C5 99 A4 switched from bassani to LG but he wasn't happy with it and another friend of mine is happy with the merose headers on his C6 Zo6 2006. But I'm staying faithfull to my bassani as I think it produces more Hp and torque and I've been running it since 2003.
fwiw, I have never seen a set of Bassani's(many other shops will concur) iirc they are installed in about 3 or 4 pcs. each side, huge potential for leaks
I offer American Racing, Kooks, Dynatech, and LG's
just installed the 5th set of AR's this season Friday
You are right about the leak as the upper connector of my bassani leaked so I had mine welded and had no problem with it ever since. I love the sound the bassani makes and the throttle is so crisp. check this link : http://www.bassani.com/faq
If your runnuing a maggie let me know your new Hp & Tq #'s when you change to a conventional long tube header. I think the results would be of interest. Good luck
You're right, that is a maggie on your left It was tuned without a dyno, I haven't had the chance to tune it so I'll check back with you with the results as soon as I have it tuned... Mind you, the car is wild as she is right now so I'm very excited about the results when she is tuned.
I've got an 04 vert running a set of Bassani's LT, X pipe , Maggie, CompCam and Tune up with bigger #s than the four guys that decided on Kooks with maggies with a 503rwhp & 459.5rwtq on a Dynojet. The fuel trims are real safe. Good luck on yours!
