Try cleaning the contacts on all of the seat connectors. Not sure it will do any good in this case, but its worth it. FYI, the seat commands go to the left door control module.
Check the wiring. This is just a guess, but normally don't these things work by -12V to go one way and +12V to go the other way? Could the motor be wired up backwards?
not quite the same problem as yours.... but i was sitting in traffic today and my driver's seat went all the way forward and rear tilt on its own and jambed me under the dash . I'm 6'3"..... made for a VERY uncomfortable situation. i hit the memory 1 button and it returned to normal. No idea why it did it or if it will do it again.
Let us know what you find out with yours. Possibly a shorted wire somewhere crossing up signals??
I was suggesting cleaning the contacts because I'm fairly sure that a position feedback circuit is in place. Essentially telling the Left Door Control Module what position the seat is in as opposed to where its supposed to be based upon the user selection and memory. If a feedback circuit opens up via a bad contact in one of the several connectors, then the left door control module will try to correct the position. Having said all that, I don't have a clue if its fact or not. I can state that my lumbar supports were doing their own thing and the small compressors there for those lumbar supports would turn on by themselves without any command taking place to the switch. Cleaning the contacts on the connectors resolved it and now working fine.
Has the seat been removed, and the seat tracks worked on lately? If so, they may be reversed (left on right & vice versa). One's a left-hand thread, the other is right-hand. If swapped, the motor still turns the screws in the same direction, but they'll move in the wrong direction.

are you suggesting that switching tracks will solve the problem?
When I was playing with my seat controls the other day (because one side of the car has none) I seem to remember them being backwards. Try swapping the controls from one side to the other.

As long as everything else checks out correct, yes, it may be that somehow the tracks have been reversed. Don't know the history of the car, but if its always acted that way, it's a possibility. But if the seat has just recently started this behavior, I'd look for something else.
