I commend you for taking on the project, but I fear that C5 is going to be impossible to make right without spending twice what it would cost to buy a nice, used C5 that is ready to run.
Just sold a set of wagon wheels to a guy restoring a Katrina 1999 Vette and he said he would NEVER do a salt water project again. WAY TO CORROSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

I myself have taken on quite a project, but it's nothing liek this!! Congrats, if you are getting ready for the body work you can se the light at the end of the tunnel!!! Be sure to post pics!!
I dont see what the big deal is. We had 5 houses down here that looked like that. Honestly, I've seen some automotive parts that were briefly submerged and completely cleaned after the flood that are now shot. You however have my admiration undertaking a project like that. BTW, I have some cheap water front property in south Louisiana if interested.
The only thing that I can see that would make this car worth the effort is if you were going to make it a race car only, either drag or road race. The car is mostly likely going to have a salvage title which would make it nearly impossible to resale once you ever get it done. Making it into a race car where you really don't need a title is the only way I see that this project would be feasible.
I hope you got this thing way cheap because you are going to have to spend a ton of money on it. Good luck, your going to need it.
Just to clarify to people who haven't read or looked at all of the picture, the car is now pretty much complete with the exception of the paint, I've replaced all of the wiring and computers and I've also replaced pretty much everything mechanical with the exception of the trans/rear end.
you said be honest. So here it is...If you wanted to put that much time, effort and money into a project, than you should have chosen a car that would appreciate once completed.
When you are all done (if ever) you will still have a flood car.
