Does any you have info on the Volant Air intake? Part # 25857C
I bought a 99 Vert that has one installed. It works fine no issues but I have no info about it.
Any thoughts would be great. Has it had any issues? I am going to get the car tuned with the WOW COW and before I do I want to make sure I should stick with this intake.
Thanks everyone.
I have the time to figure this out seeing as we got 8 inches of snow here is southern NH and they are talking about more this week.
I've got a granetelli intake which is pretty much the same thing. The only difference I can see is the filter used. I have had no problems with it at all, works great. The only thing you'll need to do occationally it to remove the filters and clean them. A K&N recharge kit will probably work fine for it.
If its the twin-cone intake, I've heard of turbulence issues from the intake tubes blending into one inlet. I've never experienced this first-hand, but I DO know that almost all other intake systems have a single filter.
The VOLANT is very popular with late model trucks and the late model GTO crowd. In those applications, it's design is usually a gauze media cone filter enclosed within a sealed box and an improved intake tube going into the throttle body. The sealed box has an opening similar to oem, drawing fresh air from an inner fender and/or behind the headlight. The box has a removable lid for inspection/cleaning and isolates the intake air from heated engine compartment air. They're a good system, but a bit expensive...what isn't?
