Default DTE Brace - At what point do you need it?

Curious when you need to install this brace, or when is it a "have to have" rather then a "nice to have". I don't race the car at the track and I don't drop the clutch. I do occasionally squeeze the go button from a roll and will soon be installing the Stage IV DTE 3.90 differential that is on my bench.

probably won't need it then... DTE might suggest it to protect their warr. idk. I haven't worked with them yet.

I'm ordering mine today but i'll be tracking mine probably every weekend.

LPE sugggest any car with 440hp or more it's a must have.

The DTE warranty is very specific about wheel hop and has a lot of discussion that it will void any warrany on the differential. I am just trying to figure out if the brace is needed in my case since I don't race the car or drop the clutch.

I would tend to go with whatever Phil recommends. He's been a stand-up guy for years and has a long history of treating people right.

If you decide to "spin" your tires - YOU NEED THE BRACE!!!!
Wheel hop WILL kill your rear end AND/OR tranny!!!

Agree. I'd drop hardened output shafts on both sides while your at it...

Peace

^ Alright thanks guys....I gotta put a clutch in so ill just do output shafts while Im in there. I know the left one break most often so I will probably get one of those from DTE but doesnt the right one come with a new gear or something and is that one completely necessary if I dont go to the track very often at all ??

The way it was explained to me is it's cheap insurance, you screw that rear up and kiss at least 2k away or put the brace in for 400 or less

Being the responsible adult owner that you are, I'd say no, a DTE brace is not necessary. Besides, it will kill your power to weight ratio.

But it moves your cg closer to midpoint.
