Default Helpful advice needed - first attempt at rebuilding diff.

Last season I snapped the right side output shaft (smaller shaft), and thanks to this great write-up (http://www.c5frc.com/DIY/Hardened_Ou...haft/index.htm) I was able to take my diff. apart to inspect it. I ordered all the heavy duty parts from RPM Transmissions (HD clutch packs/springs, HD shafts, Seals/O-Rings) Great customer service by the way, Thanks a bunch Todd! But they didn't send me a RPM T-Shirt, I guess they only keep them for the A4 conversion guys. jk

I'm about to put everything back together for the first time, and before bolting everything back on, I would like some helpful advice from the pros. Below is my list of questions:

1) I'd like to clean off the gunk/oil covered on the housing/casing, what cleaning product would you recommend for this job?

2) RPM and DTE seem to paint their diffs, which paint product(s) can I safely use? (high temp paint, primer)

3) Which 'Anaerobic Sealant' product(s) do you recommend? Also, where exactly should I apply it?

4) When putting everything back inside the housing/casing, is there anything specific I need to pay close attention too? Is everything I need to know mentioned in the write-up above? (torque specs, alignment, tolerances, pattern to install clutch packs/springs)

5) I'm switching gear oil to AMSOIL Synthetic extreme pressure 75w-140 (svo), is this a good idea? or should I stick with Synthetic extreme pressure 75w-90 (svg) instead? Also, do I need to purchase a bottle of AMSOIL slip lock differential additive (ada)? If so, how much is required?

6) Once everything is back together, what's the proper break-in procedure?

I apologies for all the questions, but I want to make sure I do this right the first time. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

Steve

Just a bit of feedback would help. You don't have to answer all my questions.

Not sure if RPM uses the same/similar clutch pack as DTE, but their fluid requirements are very specific. I know that they use the Redline 75W-140, but I also think they double the limited slip additive. You might want to check with them on this.

I know Todd@RPM said they use Valvoline SynPower Gear Oil (75w-90) + GM limited slip additive. I'd rather stick with AMSOIL products. Since nobody can confirm that 75w-140 is better, I'll go 75w-90 to play it safe.

Thanks for the feedback!
