Unfortunately I believe that it is an inherrent problem with certain alternators on these cars. I've had the issue occur with a new battery and then just go away. I believe that the pre-2000 alternators were somewhat succeptible to this and they cost like $300. If you do a search on the topic here on the forum I believe that you will find some good information on the topic.
