I'm looking for some possible causes to a problem(s) that recently surfaced on my 2001 x 6 spd before it goes to the dealer. First noticed the right side window & right door lock did not work. Then the IP went inoperative (gauges did not register) with the DIC flashing warnings -- service engine soon, reduced engine power, check tire pressure, traction control system inoperative.
Restarting the car seems to reset the IP & DIC problems but not the window/door.
Could this be caused by corrosion as the car sits sometimes for a week to 10 days in the garage between being driven? I have approx 29k on the clock.
I'd like to give the Chev dealer all possibilities as they start the diagnosis.
I just put my 2000 6spd back on the road after a long Winter and I was having the exact same issue. After driving the car a few times over the last two days the problem has cleared itself which leads me to speculate that perhaps it has something to do with electrical. Specifically, I think the battery had a weak charge...enough to just start the car. Now that its had a few miles on it, the battery is much healthier and the issues have completely disappeared.
Random electrical problems are the classic symptoms of an imminent battery failure. It also makes sense if its sat idle over Winter. I would change the battery before you take it to the Dealer. Apart from anything, they'll put in another AC Delco, at great cost, which you may not want.
If its not that it could be corroded grounds. Bill Curlee posted a great thread on cleaning up the ground connections.

the guages on the IP and the reduced power and other lights are the result of repeated pushing of the power window and lock buttons. i've seen other vettes do this. that is not the result of a real problem on the car. thats why when you turn off the ignition and back on it resets them.
i had the exact same problem with my '00 coupe. it happened yesterday as a matter of fact. i was coming in here to see if someone might know and saw this.
mine is a daily driver and i've had the new battery for a year now.
the only thing is i have a hyptertech power programmer that i installed some tuning options with and it was not acting right. this was the last straw because i took the program out of it and returned it back to stock and the window started working.
there was no power at all to that door. i checked the fuses related to the right hand door (2 of them). i also noticed that there was no control over it from the drivers side, neither the window or the lock on that side. weird. took out the program and it started working.
well i read that and thats some great info, bil C is a master in my eyes.
but there was nothing of the sort going on with mine. it had no clicking sounds, coming from either the door window , the lock, the mirror, nothing. almost like you unplugged the main power connector to the door. lol.
and immediately after i took the hypertech program out of the car, it started working. the door hadn't even been touched prior to unloading the program. weird and more weird.
oh well. its working for now and i've completely removed the program from the vehicle, so if it does it again i know it wasnt that.
thanks guys and hope the thread starte here fixes his problems as well.

The local Bowtie dealer fixed the electrical problem via replacing/cleaning the electrical connectors at the conduit loom at both doors. Apparently this is not a new problem, the service order had but a couple hours of labor. This was covered under the extended. warranty.
Thanks to all for your tips,

not to jack your thread but i always get an HVAC code that comes and goes after i clear it and its not due to a weak battery and the AC works just fine... at this point i have decided to just ignore it since nothing is wrong and its intermittent... just annoying and one of the gripes i have with corvettes since a buddy of mine has codes that come and go on his as well...
