Well, I made my second bonehead move and cut a corner too tight, scraping my rear passenger rim. I checked the damage and its slight and not very noticeable. However, it did scuff and scratch and scrape off the clearcoat on the rim. Do I have to do anything to the high polish rim? Need to add clearcoat or is it ok as is?
I wouldn't describe this as a bonehead move, because more of us have done this than you would believe. It is part of using your vette. No car that is used will remain perfect forever.
I wouldn't try to re-clearcoat the damaged section. If the scars are detectable, you can buff them out with a buffing wheel and a dremel. Or contact a wheel refinishing/repair shop if it really bothers you. Keep a good coat of zaino on the wheel and it should be fine.
Or you can do what I did and just replace the wheels with some aftermarkets :D
There's a good repair shop here in Houston near Antione and 34th off of 290. If you want to get it repaired let me know and I'll make a phone call for you.
I hope it's not true that thinks happen in 3s. Maybe it's time to park it and drive something else untill the third thing happens.
Well a rim is okay could have been a lot worst. Just be a little careful for a little while till the bad luck runs its course. :) :seeya
