Default Weird - my trunk button popped out.

i.e. the piece of plastic that has the button which opens the trunk - it just popped right out of its socket and is hanging by the wires. What is supposed to hold this in? Should there be a tab? Because there is nothing there as far as I can see - I put in back in, and it pops right back out - there is nothing to hold it.

Sounds like the metal retaining tab has come out of the button housing. See if you can reach up in there and remove the metal retainer and re-insert it into the proper place on the housing. If there is plastic damage, then you might be able to epoxy it back in place, let it dry, then just pop the housing back into the dash.

Just went through this doing my column lock bypass. Make sure the two metal clips are in place as shown in the pictures. The clip on the trunk switch has a tendency to fall off when mating with the clip on the dash. Hope this helps.
