Both are exactly the same price, I was going to get the halltech with the red duct for my 01 z06, but I guess those are not available because halltech is revising the duct. Now i'm not sure wether I should go with the k&n or the halltech stinger...I think k&n makes high quality filters, but it seems like a lot of the z06's on the "fast list" on this forum are running the halltech...Please help I can't make up my mind!!
I have the halltech and have been very happy with it. Fit is great and quality is top notch. Get the black one. You're in calif. and this has no carb# and a black will draw less attention at smog time.

MSI in Roseville had the ducks in black with and w/o Halltech on them for $60.00.
The K7N FIPK is a semi-cold intake system, whereas the Halltech stinger by itself is a warm-air system. The K&N has carbon fiber filter endcaps, whereas the Halltech has plastic endcaps. Fortunately, there are a couple of things you can do to feed cold air to the Halltech (and to some extent, the K&N).
1. Open up the fog light panel with holes, or remove it entirely. Use Z06 screens to hide the carnage.
2. Do my cold air mod which includes an unbreakable polycarbonate scoop and stainless steel screen on the lower radiator cover. Details can be found here:
