I have a 99 Vert with the electronic dual zone system. The A/C just stopped working a few days ago. I thought perhaps it was a leak so I checked the pressure and it was fine. I drained and recharged the system and it still blows hot air. All the ducts seem to work fine and it changes them as I change the settings on the unit. What is especially strange is that when I turn the drivers side temp control to heat, it lowers the fan speed to almost nothing. As I change it back to cold the fan speeds up. Passenger side control has no affect. Is this simply a bad unit and my A/C is fine? Is there a way to bypass the unit and check? Please help, I live in FL and it's going to be hot as blazes here before long.
Pull up the HVAC codes, you may have a failure of the divertor that routes the air through the heater core. Try and clear the codes, it will try to reset the doors to default. If you need help stop by the shop & I will do that part free. www.RevXtreme.com

I reset the codes, had a B0361H and B0441H, it cleared them out. It now blows cool but not cold out the passenger side but still blows hot out the drivers side. Guess I'm looking at tearing into the drivers side actuator next. I still don't understand why my passenger side doesn't get ice cold like it used too. With a new charge in the A/C system it should blow very cold.
Have you looked to see if the compressor is actually running? Also, you can easily vent the refrigerant out of the system, but putting it back in is a problem. You really need to have it done professionally as it must be first vacuumed, then the refrigerant is put in by weight. Its a different amount based upon what the ambient temperature is at the time. A little too much and you will get an overpressure condition and the obvious for too little. It doesn't work the same as R12. Past all that, there is probably a fuse for the compressor too that could have let go.

Yes, when I turn the A/C on the compressor kicks on. I did check the fuses in the engine compartment and under the passenger footwell. The passenger side does get a little cooler now. It may be that I need to have it vacuumed and refilled. I'm guessing I'll still need to do that actuator sooner than later.

It sounds like the divertor doors & the acuators for them. Try & clear the codes a few more times. If you do need we have an entire under dash HVAC unit, dual zone for $200 if you want it. Good luck!

I'm going to have the system completely drained and recharged, I'll see how that does. I believe I'll still need to fix the drivers side actuator. What all comes with that under dash HVAC unit?

Complete unit with acuators & everything except the dash controls. This is an entire unit.
We can also evac the system saving you 134a freon and verifiy everything for no cost.
Based on my experience, I would recommend you change both actuators at the same time, even if you only get codes that indicate one of them is not working properly.
I'm getting no codes now but the drivers side is still much warmer than the passenger side. The passenger side is definitely cool but not "Cold" as it should be. I'm thinking an evac and fixing the actuator should solve the problem.
