? RE: A/C temp setting Vs. "External" air temp
I noticed today that when running my A/C the temperature setting has to be at least 8-10 degrees below what my dashboard shows as the "External air temperature" or the A/C does not kick in and the vents simply blow warm air.
Is this 'normal'?

It should work off the INTERNAL temp sensor! Sounds like you have the MODE switch in AUTO. Take it out of AUTO and see if it works different in the manual modes.
