Dan! You got that right. I've heard all the horror stories, but I don't drive her
in the rain at all. Weekend toy
2K1C5, Absolutely love the look, which is almost half the reason to get it. I've got a friend fabricating a piece of rubber-molding to seal the gap between the TRIC and the shroud. Don't need sand and other grime in the engine bay. Haven't dyno'd yet, will be doing so shortly. I'll post the results
I was trying to decide whether to go with this or the SideWinder, but now that I see just how low that really is, I think I'll go with the SideWinder and some cold air screens. With my luck, I'd get caught in a sudden shower and - gurgle, gurgle . . . :cry
Looks just like mine :D Installed mine myself also. In your kit there should have been a seal to go around the cut out of the shroud to seal the snokel and the shroud from debri and other fine particulate. If you encounter a large deep puddle floor it as the tires will spread out the water--if you go extremely slow the water will surge to the centre and thats where your intake filter is.. I use the sock for most of the driving and have not encountered any malfunctions at all rain and puddles not a problem every day driver. Good luck :seeya :yesnod:
I ran Ataps on my car with a blackwing and cold air screens and the intake temp was the same as outside above 30 mph! Is there a REAL advantage to be had with this setup?
I have tric also, but did not use the stainless metal tube or cut the shroud.I instead, connected the filter right after the maf sensor on top of the shroud. This is similar to the stock locaton.I then cut a large hole in fog lamp assemble bracket to let cold air to come in.
I've got the same setup and the same distance to the road. Had it for almost a year now I think, no......10 months, anyways, no problems here, also a weekend toy and for the nice weather months.
