Default automatic to 6speed conversion

I was wondering how much would it cost me to purchase a 6speed tranny setup to do a conversion in my 04 coupe. And is it costly to have the work done?

You can find all the parts on the forum for around $1500 for an M6.

Give Cartek or RPM a call for a price quote, they have done this type of swap many times.

I am not sure exactly what parts I need to buy besides the tranny and clutch master cylinder. Can anyone let me know what else I would need

Off the top of my head:

Shifter
Pedals
Transmission Wiring haness for an 04.
master cylinder
clutch
throw out bearing
I believe you will need to also purchase some switches.

^^ You will also probably want to change your differential gear to a 3.42 from whatever you currently have with your A4 (most likely 2.73 or 3.15)

It will probably cost about $1500 or so to do swap. Your car needs to be reprgrammed from an automatic to a manual.

My brother is doing this to his car. Has all the parts already.

Most people say that the best way to do this is to find someone who wants to go from a standard to an automatic and you can just switch parts. Throw a post out on the FI section, a lot of those guys are swithcing to autos for reliability reasons.
