Recently had to pull the steering rack and after re-installing I have a issue with the power steering pump. The pressure relief valve opens and pours power steering fluid out.
Replaced Power Steering pump
Replaced Power Steering Hose
Replaced Power Steering Cooler
Replaced Power Steering Resevior
I have tried bleeding the system numerous times and still have issue. The latest I have found is if I remove the fluid cap and do not pressurize the system seems to be okay.
Is this a issue with air in the system or a blockage somewhere ?
Any suggestions where I might go next to resolve the issue. Please don't tell me the "Stealership" .....
Which lines are you refering to ? If on the steering gear I have checked and rechecked against a friends vette the Top connection on steering gear is going to the pump and bottom connector to the cooling coils...
Man,, i love it when great minds think alike! That was my VERY SAME thought. The lines have to be crossed. If not crossed lines, one of the lines was damaged upon reassembly. Give that a look see!

That sounds correct, I agree with Bill, disonnect the lines and make sure they aren't kinked somewhere or you might have gotten a piece of trash in one of them while they were disconnected.
Okay made a carefull exam of the lines, as I said before the Top connection on steering gear is going to the pump and bottom connector to the cooling coils... The 2 metal lines on the steering shaft are connected to the pump as they should be as far as I can tell. The shorter line goes to the connector closest to the cooling line on the pump and the longer line goes to the one fartherest away. Looks like it is time to start disconnecting and inspecting lines looking for damage.
Still working on it but the issue is a leaking power steering pump X 2….. Apparently you must be Very Careful when replacing the pulley on the pump any excess pressure while installing it will cause a leaky pump.. You must use a press and fixture to do it right.

Oh yeh, you have to use the right tool to press the pulley onto the pump, and never put any pressure (IE whack with a hammer) on the front of the pulley or pump shaft.
