Do you use a Bra?
My wife and I are really enjoying our first corvette, but I dread the day I notice the first chip on the paint . I'd like to know how many of us use bras, or a alternative to protecting the front of the car.

Welcome pjazz
No, we don't use a bra for daily driving, but I'm planning on getting one for autocrossing (hit a cone at 50 yesterday, oops).
As for your new Corvette, it's going to get a scratch at some point, my advice, stand in front of the car, take a deep breath and chuck a handful of gravel at your bumper. Just get it over with. It's liberating. :jester
i have used the GM bra on both my 97and 99 C-5 for extended trips with good results. no problems with the paint. i always remove the bra when i get to where i am going. i gives piece of mind when you get stuck behind a truck load of gravel. i will also use it on my 02 when it hit the road for any long trips.
I now use mine for any trip over 10 miles, I drive along the Pacific Ocean every day, without a bra it is like having the nose sand blasted. I use the GM bra, low cost, fits well, easy on/off
I bought a GM bra, thinking I'd only use it for long trips. It turns out MOST of my damage is actually from my short trips and regular commuting. I really prefer the look without the bra, so my front end has plenty of damage. I'm just gonna suck it up and get the front clip repainted in a couple years.
i got a gm bra that fits wonderful and changes the look of the vette if you get bored. gm also states you can leave it on if it gets wet but dont do it. If it gets wet remove it as soon as possible. Donot let it dry on the car.The bra is excellent for front in protection and stable @150mph. ! of my employees (55yr old female) always tell me how much she loves my car w/ the bra on it. My son calls it the Halloween mask. I luv it but i like all types of bras 38dd :yesnod:
I try to use the Speed Lingerie Bra all the time and take it off when I wash the car or after it has gotten wet from rain. With some leather conditioner applied the color match makes it almost undetectable. The side view mirror covers come off when I park the car in public so as to avoid theft. The bra fits snugly and a clear portion allows the crossed flags emblem on the nose to show through.I have ruined front bumbers/nose and side view mirrors on my other vehicles from love bugs and felt it was well worth the big expense. ;)

Ditto. And the bra only goes so far... I have chips on the headlight covers and more than halfway up the hood. I'd have to paint more than the nose anyway, so why protect the nose with ugly fabric that chafes the paint?
On trips, I use the GM bra on the C5 and it works well. It keeps cleaning up lots of bug guts to a minimum. Also protects from rock chips and since my car is black, its not as noticeable. I also have the mirror covers.
