The 2001 LS6 engines in the Z06 were affected by excessive oil consumption. Here's a TSB that covers it. I've heard some coupe owners complain about the same issue. I'd say it would be worth monitoring your oil useage as a precaution
All that said it sounds like the outfit that did your oil change are a bunch of numpties. They use the wrong oil that doesn't comply with the GM spec and underfill it by 1.5 qts. I'd be having some serious words.

I agree with concerns expressed above. Given the demonstrated, and now documented incompetance of the facility in regard to a C5, I've got to also wonder if they followed the correct procedure to jack and raise the car.........The price of your cheap oil change seems to be getting higher and higher, what with potential unknown damage being done by these incompetents.
Picked up 7 quarts of Royal Purple 5W-40 Full Synthetic Motor Oil and a K&N Oil Filter...
I was wondering the differences in weights of oil and why they can be used over the standard 5W30 oil... Like the royal purple 5W40 or the other mobil post..
I've used the Series 2000 20w50 on the track before, but wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver. It's viscosity is too high. I used it when I raced in the heat of the Memphis summer and my typical track oil temps, with an oil cooler, ran upwards of 290F. At those temps, the visocisty of a 50 grade oil is less than that of what a typical 30 grade (factory recommendation) is at a more typical 212F. In cooler areas, I now use a 10w40 on the track.
That's 1.5 qts low from the git go. You've just proved why you should never let those get em in, get em out oil change places touch your Corvette. "Cheap oil changes" aren't going to be cheap when your engine is damaged due to improper lubrication from low oil levels. But it's your car.
Btw, MN6 and A4 refer to manual and auto transmissions.
How can a business that charges for changing oil make this mistake?

It is hard to imagine how a business that makes it's money doing service work could make a mistake like this. They are bound to have a master list of vehicles, engines and specs. to look at that would give them all the info. they need to do it right.
New update: so i went back to firestone and talked to the manager he said.. they use kendall GT-1 Which is GM spec for the vette and also the quantity of 5 is just a number they fill it to the fill line every time.. But before this i went out and bought 7 quarts of mobil 1 full synthetic and they said they used all 7 quarts and it was still a quart short.. also they use a champion HP 4007 oil filter ....any input?

I checked the product data sheet for Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic oil and it does not list that it meets GM Standard 4718M, the actual GM spec for the Corvette... my input is to take your business elsewhere.
I'm also a little skeptical that 7 full quarts doesn't fill an LS1, but either way, I'd check the level on the dipstick and fill accordingly.
