I recently did the zip tie mod on my 02Z with a K and N filter, and it worked great. For the price (less than $5 for zip ties!), you can't beat it.

I believe Corvette Magazine just did a 2 part article covering nearly every manufacture of aftermarket intakes. I have the Vortech Ram Air one and I'm happy.

For added 10 minute mod/bang, make sure you guys take the screws out under the front facia plastic (under the air filter outside and under), and prop open (I used 2 old film canisters). This opens up for fresh air intake and maybe a bit a ram at high speed. Otherwise the air had to bend it way into the zip tie open filter. I've had no issue with water or snow for 10 years on mine.
