Default Red Top Died

Bad news : My red top battery died at 14 months.

Good news : No questions asked, free replacement.

Hope this one will last longer .

When I left AutoZone the 2 clerks almost came to blows over the battery. One guy swears by them the other said he wouldn't put one in any car.

I had a Red Top die but it sat idle on the boat for 2 months so it was understandable. It was always very reliable as a DD.

They don't like being discharged so its worth hooking up a battery tender if you dont use the car very often.

To me Optima batteries suck! I have had eight batteries go bad in four vehicals in the past two years. The Sears in my area even stopped selling them all together. I first tried yellow tops then went to red tops, and now I'm trying the Sears platinum Die Hard.

Ive had the same yellow top for 3+ years and had to jump it for the first time last night, due to me working on the car and leaving the radio, sub, and a/c on for a while

Default Hmmm.....

Seems like for the money the red tops and yellow tops have been reported on CF to have a lot of failures. My stepson used one in his 1/8 mile drag car and it seemed to have more problems than the Wally world battery I used in my Street Stock dirt track car without an alternator. I would trickle charge it during the week and race all saturday night on the battery alone.
