Default Normal oil pressure?

My oil pressure is reading about 40psi under medium throttle and 33-35 when cruising. Is this about normal? Did a search and could not find any numbers. Thanks

Here check this out, these are the very minimal pressures you can run if your above these then your good to go!
1.18) What should my oil pressures be?
With 5W-30 Mobil 1, the 2000 manual lists hot oil minimum specs at:
6 psi at 1,000 engine RPM
18 psig at 2,000 engine RPM
24 psig at 4,000 engine RPM

So, if you are above those numbers, you are still just fine.

Oil filter you use can have an effect on presures somewhat - Mobil 1 filters are known to reduce pressure a bit versus the GM factory PF44 and PF46 filters.

Thanks,Matt

Man I love being able to search this forum.

I was worried a bit.

Idle I'm a shade over 20psi
1500rpm about 35-38psi
WOT she's 60ish

K&N filter

Although your pressures are good, I found WIX or NAPA Gold (same filter) oil filters to increase oil flow and pressure over Mobil 1 and DELCO Premium (UPF) filters. I switched to them.
