Default QTP Cutout X-Pipe!

Howdy Folks!

Has anyone ever used the full pre-fabbed cutout/x-pipe from QTP?

I was kind of itemizing a list of parts and labor for just buying the cutouts, electric baffles, etc., and factoring in some welding labor (plus the driving to get it done, possible issues if the shop doesn't have experience with C5's) it *seems* like it might be better.

I'm running Supermaxx headers so I'd have to figure out how the two sections would fit (I just noticed the QTP website is down...). Just wondering if anybody has actually used this setup and what the rest of the their setup was like (headers? OEM?)

Thanks!

Its plug and play in mine since I have the QTP headers, I don't have the cutouts but did look at them and listen to them at Carlisle. Very nice setup

Shoot an e-mail to Barry at QTP, I'm sure he can help you.

The whole QTP exhaust setup looks really sweet!

I'll drop him a line - maybe I'll get some meaurements from my current setup, so we can figure out how it would go together.

Their system is based on the Random Tech "X" pipe, or at least it was. Not sure what RT has on their web site that might help until you get a hold of Barry.

Chatted with them, sounds like I'll need to go with components vs. any prefabbed system. I guess I'll have to trust my exhaust shop (which is a little scary )

I used the Qtp Y pipes on my LG X pipe. Went together with little time and careful measuring.

Excellent, thanks for the motivation guys! The muffler shop does a bit of hotrod/custom work, so I'm sure they'll be fine!

Any tips about mounting position? It looks like both of your pics have them mounted almost exactly horizontal? I guess I should just take the whole car (vs. wrenching out the mid pipe) and let them size everything up!

They will have to be on the car for the shop to get the fit right. You want to keep up as high as possible for clearances.

No heat issues with proximity to the rear end?

No, I wouldn't think so there is plenty of air flow around it.
