I'm a proud new owner of a very gengly used 2003 50th Ann. Edition convertible and love the car. I notice the driver door was not locking with the power lock button or key fob and found the relay fix on this website.
I tried the low tech approach and gave a quick bang on the inside door panel just behind the door lock itself, and Walllllaaaaahhh. The lock works now.
Cheaper fix than the $1.75 relay, or the $400 dealer replacement. We'll see how long it lasts.
This board is great, I'll be lurking often! Thanks folks.
WOW..your first post and you're posting in TECH! I'm impressed! I guess now that you fixed your door lock, what's next? I bet grabbing the steering wheel and shaking it violently will cure that column lock issue, and then just for sh*ts grins and giggles, go kick the left rear wheel to stop that diff leak. Yew duh man! Welcome TECH'y......
