Default X Pipe Revisited

I know this has been asked a million times, but when I did a search I couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for.
When I add a catback system, would the installation of a X-Pipe have any effect on the loudness; particularly inside the?
Thanks

I have Corsa Indy cat backs on my 2K and when I installed the Corsa X pipe, it made no difference in noise from the exhaust. Nor did it do much to eliminate the popping on deceleration. Kind of dissapointing for the money spent.

I too have the Corsa Indy system and installed a Magnaflow X pipe which quieted things down nicely.

I don't know if you have ever had your car tuned. If not, one day you might. If and when you do, be sure and tell the tuner that you want the popping on deceleration eliminated. There is a table called "Deceleration Fuel Cut Off". He can adjust the parameters in this table so that the DFCO will cut in earlier, so that basically the fuel and spark are shut off completely every time your foot is lifted from the throttle. You will see about a 2 mpg gain in city driving also.

I have not had the car tuned, but I just may do this soon. It is a stock 2000. We have a great tuner in the Portland area that I'm sure, can take care of this. And, Thanks!
